Thin, lightweight and easy to use, the Pro-Tec II is constructed of 2 mm thick tungsten that will reduce radiation exposure from Tc-99m by more than 99% attenuation for Tc-99 tested with TLD chips. A 5.05 density lead glass window provides protection and visibility. A white reflective surface on the shield interior improves viewing of the syringe's markings and fluid content. A bevel around the lead glass helps protect it from scratching or breaking.

The Pin-Tec Syringe Shield is made of tungsten alloy, providing maximum radiation protection. It has a 2.2 mm thick tungsten wall, and is built to withstand the rigors of daily use by using a unique pin-action that grips the syringe and prevents it from inadvertently backing out or twisting in the shield. The pins self-sharpen for long life and holding power. The unique bright yellow fluorescent gloss reflects light better, enhancing the view of the syringe.

This shield features a plasticized rubber ring around the glass, which prevents shattering and reduces breakage. A standard thumb screw holds the syringe firmly in place.
